Hi,
I just set up this blog for my upcoming trip to the mother continent. I will post pictures whenever I can and hopefully will be able to get on the internet often enough to write about what I'm doing!
I leave Monday morning and after a little time in Brussels, I should arrive in Rwanda's capital, Kigali, the night of July 3rd. I'm staying with a friend in Kigali who works at the Clinton Foundation. The next day, July 4th, is Rwanda's Liberation Day, a national holiday. Hopefully there will be entertaining parades and dancing, but we'll see. Then I should be headed to the northwestern district of Shyira on the 5th. I'm planning to take a public bus then meet up with someone from the hospital in Shyira and ride with them the rest of the way. I'm hoping there aren't any mechanical problems because apparently the natl languages are Kinyarwanda and French, neither of which I understand (yet).
I'm so excited to get there and will post more when I can. I miss everyone already!
