I arrived in Malawi yday to find that Winnie, the nursery receptionist, and adada (dad) nyrienda, the nursery's driver, picked me up from the airport. I've been staying with one of the nursery mothers and her 8 "children" (her brother and sister's kids). I worked the night shift at the nursery with all my old mothers (amayi pasanje, chonde and sikazwe) after they welcomed me with lots of singing and hugging. But I'm already tired of eating nsimah!!! haha the texture is like someone added gelatin to grits...but i kno it will grow on me.
In an unfortunate turn of events, the Dimmocks are in northern malawi after they were robbed of almost everything when they got back from the states. I am trying to get a visa for zambia, but have to get a couple passport photos and police waver and application signed first. Im hoping to meet up with the Dimmocks soon and leave for zambia in a few days.
